James Iranzad
Vancouver restaurateur James Iranzad co-founded Gooseneck Hospitality – a group of award-winning dining concepts. James was born in Iran and raised in England before arriving in Vancouver with his parents in 1983. After earning a degree in Art History and Shakespearean Studies from UBC, James gravitated towards hospitality to express his personal values of generosity, integrity, and togetherness – values informed by his experiences of displacement.
Since 2000, James and his teams have developed a dozen critically acclaimed restaurants recognized for their reliable quality, thoughtful spaces, and some of the brightest, most inspired hospitality talent. Through his work with the BC Hospitality Foundation and various levels of government, James has shaped policies to advance the local hospitality industry and elevate its people.
James enjoys cooking, traveling, and dining out with his sons and partner. He is a longtime coach and director for Vancouver United Football Club.
